In case you missed it! How to Photograph Your Art Using Your Smartphone

At our member meeting last Wednesday, Jill Rumley (Board Member & our newsletter & website & social media editor) demonstrated how to photograph your artwork using your smartphone!  She demonstrated the use of a tripod, smartphone adaptor (to connect to the tripod) lighting and editing techniques using a free app called SnapSeed.

Here is the before and after photos showing how she set the artwork on a chair, and then the finished photograph edited right on her phone! (Thanks to Catharina Van Haaren for the use of her beautiful painting!)

Click here to download some tips on how to do this in your own home!

Born in 1973 in Seattle, Washington. The youngest in a family of 5. He grew up in the shadow of others with a doodling obsession and an imagination daily fueled. At the early age of 18 he recognized his calling to be a ‘communicator’ – be it through his pen, his drawing or his voice. With this he set out to use his talent and give what he had to the world. Today he continues to create stories, tell stories and bring them to life through illustration. Touching hearts, stirring hearts and challenging the status quo of thought and action.

He’s married and has three children. They travel extensively and seem to find adventure at every turn. Still fueling the imagination …and that of his kids.

In Case You Missed it! We had a great member meeting in April!

This month’s meeting included an Artist Social (Zentangle & Doodle demo with Lynn Diagnault), an Art Swap (with great stuff!) and our Mini-Art show.

Congrats to Toby Myers the favorite art piece of our Mini-Art show!

Have you ever been in a room with over 30 people and have complete silence? This was the wonderful experience we had during our Zentangle & Doodle demonstration with Lynn Diagnault at our April member meeting.  Lynn discussed the history of the zentangle. To sum it up, a Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. It is a fascinating new art form that is fun and relaxing. It increases focus and creativity. Zentangle provides artistic satisfaction and an increased sense of personal well being. Check out the slide show below for the results of this zentangley-doodle experience from our wonder artist members!
