At our member meeting last Wednesday, Jill Rumley (Board Member & our newsletter & website & social media editor) demonstrated how to photograph your artwork using your smartphone! She demonstrated the use of a tripod, smartphone adaptor (to connect to the tripod) lighting and editing techniques using a free app called SnapSeed.
Here is the before and after photos showing how she set the artwork on a chair, and then the finished photograph edited right on her phone! (Thanks to Catharina Van Haaren for the use of her beautiful painting!)

Our January 10th meeting was so much fun! Rhonda Crosman, one of our board members, presented a talk and demonstration of Kumihimo Japanese braiding. She provided discs and yarn for all attendees to make their own friendship bracelets to take home. If you missed the meeting, you can click here to download the instructions for the braiding.
Please check out Rhonda’s website for more on her work and teaching. http://rhonda.crosman.org/
And congratulations to John Baker-Batsel for being our mini-art show winner for his wonderful photograph!
