Great Frame Up

Born in 1973 in Seattle, Washington. The youngest in a family of 5. He grew up in the shadow of others with a doodling obsession and an imagination daily fueled. At the early age of 18 he recognized his calling to be a ‘communicator’ – be it through his pen, his drawing or his voice. With this he set out to use his talent and give what he had to the world. Today he continues to create stories, tell stories and bring them to life through illustration. Touching hearts, stirring hearts and challenging the status quo of thought and action.

He’s married and has three children. They travel extensively and seem to find adventure at every turn. Still fueling the imagination …and that of his kids.

In Case You Missed it! We had a great member meeting in April!

This month’s meeting included an Artist Social (Zentangle & Doodle demo with Lynn Diagnault), an Art Swap (with great stuff!) and our Mini-Art show.

Congrats to Toby Myers the favorite art piece of our Mini-Art show!

Have you ever been in a room with over 30 people and have complete silence? This was the wonderful experience we had during our Zentangle & Doodle demonstration with Lynn Diagnault at our April member meeting.  Lynn discussed the history of the zentangle. To sum it up, a Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. It is a fascinating new art form that is fun and relaxing. It increases focus and creativity. Zentangle provides artistic satisfaction and an increased sense of personal well being. Check out the slide show below for the results of this zentangley-doodle experience from our wonder artist members!

Exciting new LAG Venue/Show! Old Town Marketplace on Main St. Longmont!

otm

Beginning January 2017, Old Town Marketplace, 332 Main St., is offering us a fantastic opportunity! On the 2nd Friday event of EACH month, our LAG artists will display and sell their work in the center of the Marketplace on display boards.  We will also be allowed to have tables for small pieces; gift shop items, during 2nd Friday. The displayed larger art would then stay there for the month, then rotate out for another group of artists. You do not need to be present for the remainder of the month.

The cost is only $10 per artist, with no commission on any sales for the month long show. For gift shop artists, 2nd Friday is the only show/sale day, and the entry fee is $5 with no commission taken. You need to provide your own tables and chairs (a couple of artists can share if you want).

ALL artists need to be present at the the 2nd Friday event and handle their own sales (there is WiFi for credit card sales), plus each artist needs to bring a finger-food item for the event.

The marketplace is open during the hours of 10am to 8pm (Mon – Sat) and we have LAG members who will help keep an eye on our art, plus someone to take our sales, answer questions, etc.

We are starting a list of artists now!  This is an incredible opportunity for us, and very inexpensive.  The fees may increase at a future date, so sign up now!  Space is limited!

If you are interested in being one of our artists for January, please respond to
Jill Rumley jill.rumley@gmail.com (thank you Jill for finding this venue!)
or
Lynne Lemmer
lynnelemmer@gmail.com.

Please indicate if you want to enter large pieces ($10 entry fee for 3-4 pieces), gift shop pieces ($5 entry fee, plus your own table/chairs) or both ($15 fee).
